Going back to school after 30 years. MS in Emergency Management.
Need study tips you found helpful. What to avoid. Basic tutorials for people like me coming from the stone age setting up shop in the present.
What student benefits should I exploit? i.e. train/bus passes, discounts, clubs to join, etc.
Scared shitless, but would rather be 52 with the degree than without it. Also, why the hell not? I enjoy learning.

Every prof has their own way of doing things, even if they’re all using the same platform. Figuring it out sucks.

The time goes by really fast so you need to be vocal and participate. Get to know your classm8s, you’re there to network as well as learn.

I had to write a ton of papers. Learn the citation style and learn how to have the computer read the draft back to you when proofing.

Great tip!

I also had my computer read the PDF assignments back to me to improve my focus—highlighting and taking notes as I went. The accessibility…

options can help you get through readings faster and stay focused. (My course reading was about 150 pages a week.)
