Increasingly I'm hitting the sack very early, getting 2-5 hours sleep, then up again for 3-18 hours. Usually a nap in the afternoon. Ugh. (Am OldGuy™, retired)
EDIT: four hours now and still alert. Feels like a 12-hour-up day.

I've tried it; sometimes it works but it's not consistent. Almost 4 1/2 hours now, time to get dressed, feed the cats (locked downstairs at night; others are outside-only), go pick up the single cup of coffee (just cream, please) that is my daily luxury.

I wake up 2 hours before my alarm without fail, then ruminate until I give up on falling back asleep. Fun!

Turning my bad sleep habits into $ I'm at work 4 hours earlier than my scheduled start time. Helps out the people on 3rd shift and puts money in my pocket for the upcoming holidays.

What works for me is slicing up 3 bananas and drizzling honey over it all and eating it while watching something relaxing. Like planet earth, 30 minutes before bed. But also getting some exercise outside at night. And drugs

I'd have to take a helluva insulin jab before trying that one, but it might be worthwhile.
