Installing a Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1050Ti graphics card

May 13, 2021 2:32 AM

Behold, my new graphics card, one of the last components before I can bring my monster to life. This is my first time building a PC and it has been fun.

The card comes with a plastic cover over the slot you use to install it. Pull it off and it will be pretty easy to tell which part it fits, but if you're having trouble it says PCI E3 on mine. My motherboard is a Tomahawk wifi MAG X570.

Once you have it situated, push in until you hear a click. It doesn't take a ton of pressure to do.

I accidentally took out a bracket I didn't need to. The one on the right is the one I needed to remove, I'll have to reattach the other bracket some other time. If this happens to you, electrical tape is an easy enough cover so you don't get excess dust inside. Anyway, in this one I'm holding the bracket that holds it down.

First screw to hold the graphics card in place.

And there's the second. Hopefully this will be helpful to someone who needs to install one of these!
