Humans have never lived in harmony with anything. Hell, nature itself doesn't live in harmony internally. Species are evolving as a result of being more capable of surviving something and thus make more offspring, which in turn narrows out another species. Further, the planet itself is not conscious and the events occurring on the surface are indifferent to whatever lives there. There's no point in attributing value to something that never existed.
