Is my ceiling collapsing?!

Mar 26, 2020 2:17 AM

Came out to take trash to the curb and noticed everything on the ground sounded gritty. Look up and seem a huge crack running the width of my ceiling along a seam.

We bought the house 2 years ago, built in 2000. I'm also noticing what looks like footprints in the ceiling.

I initially noticed a while back that this section was coming down but I thought it was just the tape and it needed to be redone or something. Just haven't gotten around to it.

I don't know who to call or what to look for in the attic. Or if I should even go up there to look.

Zoomed in at the worst part.

On the way out, noticed tape peeling off above the door. What the hell am I supposed to do?

Our entire ceiling in our garage collapsed on us several years ago. Garage was unsealed. Collapse was the inevitable result.

Im not an expert, but that looks like a lot of mud on those joints. Like I dont think its supposed to be that thick. I could be wrong.

They missed the studs with the screws?

The foot prints were made when the idiots that did the work walked on the board before they put it up

Footprints on the ceiling are from people walking on the drywall before installing it. It also looks like they installed it upside down.
