For my bachelor thesis I was allowed to use the university computers with 64 GB. That was quite nice but sometimes still not enough...
This was on a company computer where I did my internship. They only had 24, though I do know someone who managed to talk their way into 1/2
Using the universities supercomputer for and FEA, still not sure how, because our physics dept. Hates the engineering dept. 2/2
For an* Oops. I guess there shouldn't even be an an if you pronounce it as the words instead of the acronym.
Well, it worked... seems you have a Big Bang theory situation :D my engineering department luckily doesn’t depend on the physics
Ours don't depend on each other much either, but someone wanted to play with the big expensive toys, like all good engineers do.
But the whole point of my thesis was the use of cyclic symmetry so there would less need of RAM
