It's quartz. If you lick it and it makes you twitch it might not be.

Nah, just plain ole quartz. clean it up and it will look pretty.

Give it a lick. Sticks to tongue = fossil, doesn't stick = not fossil.

Looks like some dirty quartz. Fairly common and not a fossil. But then, I am not a rockologist.
