Github was recently bought by Microsoft, which is still seen as enemy of Open Source community. Thousands of developers moved and are still moving to our last hope - Gitlab.

Version control system, mostly, but not only, for developers. Normal people would use it e.g. when writing thesis etc.

Unpopular opinion, Microsoft has embraced and encouraged the open source community in recent years and will be good for GitHub.

Yes, but that would he outlined in the tos, and if it is people would stop using it.

there are always loopholes in tos but you're right - idk that was the worst case scenario... and ms always can change the rules
