All the JS I learnt was against my will. Do I put a semi-colon at the end of the line? What's in fashion currently there? Does it make the slightest bit of difference either way? Will this work or will my order of operations cause a type coercion to make everything a string?

This is coming from a Pythonista, so it's not like I don't have a high tolerance for bullshit in programming languages.

Strongly disagree with the other comments. Lots of people (but not most people) are good at JavaScript. 80% of it involves knowing which parts of JavaScript to never touch. 15% of it involves knowing when the language designer chose being clever over being smart. Ask questions, I'll try to help you.
