Apologies for the 'me' in this pic, but the day Mr G flopped on his back under my arm in bed, my heart melted.

He learned food was always available, he could sleep as much as he liked without fear, and how to find his inner kitten when playing. 2.5 years or more on the streets fending for himself meant he was suspicious of humans. It took 9 months before he'd let me approach and touch him. The day he turned up sick with a massive abscess on his head was the day I took him to the vet. A post on the local FB group soon got attention, and Gingernuts' story unfolded.
My Vet contacted the 'owner', who lied through her teeth, so the Vet got her to hand over ownership or pay a huge vet bill. Thankfully, the wretched woman agreed, and his microchip was changed to my name. Vetwork and desexing done, he recuperated at home. I had no idea how he'd adapt to being an indoors cat, but he took to the litterbox immediately and has been a flawless kitty from the get-go. He's my world now.

Now re-named 'Mister G' since he no longer has any ginger nuts (haha), he is my most treasured possession.

He's gentle, smart, and social with visitors and tradesmen alike, to my astonishment.

Marking his territory and keeping other rivals at bay.

"Pay attention to ME; no more work!"

Bird watching.

Gotta get those 18 hours of sleep per day!

My first sighting of Gingernuts when he was wild and mistrustful. Had a real set of troublepuffs on him, too, hence the name.

I've had eight cats in my life thus far, and every single one has been rescued from the street. Some sadly, have had short lives due to potential injury/disease before I took them in, but they have lived in love until they finally went to kitty Valhalla. Not one of them I was looking for; they found me, and the universal cat distribution system keeps on giving. Thank you. My life is immeasurably better for their being part of my life, and Mr G is no exception.

You are beautiful.
