Remember when you did science experiments as a kid before internet videos existed? Do kids still do that? Honestly, a Twitch channel that does children’s science experiments sounds like fire. Like egg drops and volcanos.
What's the point of the straws if you just add MORE crap after it to mess up the flow, THEN combine all those 'from the straw' flows into ONE big mixed flow?
It reduces turbulence by forcing the water to flow in the same direction rather than spiraling through the larger opening. Not perfectly, but improved.
I bought a kitchen faucet that has a laminar flow. When its on you can barely hear it. Most people go "oh you dont have good water pressure here huh?" then when they put something under it, water goes everywhere
For an even better effect, add in coffee stirring straws between the spaces in the regular straws. Then take some sort of metal sheet (aluminum foil can work, but something thicker is better) and cut a hole in the middle to the diameter in your outlet. Finally, deburr the hole by sanding it down using incrementingly finer sand paper while also maintaining as perfect of a circle as you can. The cleaner the hole, the more perfect laminar flow you’ll get.
instead of deburring the hole, use the top of a screwtop bottle (e.g. water bottle, 2L pop bottle, whatever). It's as smooth as you need on the inside!
The more fiddly and weird your project, the cooler it is when you're done!
It's very hard to do that with water in an outdoor environment and hand held. To get it to look still it's easier with a viscous fluid, which is why you often see it with oil or syrup.

Bro just built a silencer for his hose... He Luigi'd his lawn!

Be right back, I suddenly have to pee.

I HAVE screamed, "Look at that laminar flow!" while drunkingly urinating.

Glory to you, and your urethra.

But the green filter and the compacting of those individual flows would re add a lot of eddies back in

Or if you wanna do it quick and dirty:
ILikeToCallItLostWages
Steve Spangler. His science shows got me and the kids through the pandemic. Very much Bill Nye energy
Antininny
bring it indoors for the true experience... it's so windy outside

If it's cold YOU'RE cold wait.... no
TheeRickestRick3
That's Steve Spangler. He has a ton of really cool science experiments that anyone at any age can enjoy.

You can't fool me. That's Zeus's immortality fountain.

Or you can put polymers in the water.

I just learned about laminar flow this week, I’m constantly fucking delighted at how it feels to learn new things, then see it out in the world.

Congrats! You’ve just bought a bunch of plastic bullshit.
DYLANLEE79
It's a giant aerator.
OverwhelmingSurplusOfDiggity
no, it's nothing like an aerator at all. One increases turbulence and mixes air; the other reduces turbulence and doesn't add air.
BaconAlmighty
I've seen better laminar flows however as its still moving
