I don't know. There's something about any sentence containing the phrases "self taught" and "flying" that sounds an awful lot like "suicidally stupid" to me. The rules and procedures of aviation are all written in blood. Our bodies are so crazy fragile compared to the forces involved in flight, and even if you survive, some injuries you don't recover from ever.
