I wanted to create something inspired by my years of keeping reef aquariums (and pulling my hair out). I wanted to build a reef and then add the 'water' on top but selectively, to simulate submerged and non submerged areas. I'm pretty happy with the result. I was super nervous risking my prints already 9 colours in, with a layer of blue slapped on top. I've used multiply setting in Photoshop for years but it was really cool seeing it in practice with the inks. With a single blue layer my total colours doubled from 9 to 18.

If you'd like a print I've got 10 of these bad boys!

That's a hell of a lot of burning. Damn. Are you well stocked with screens? I hope you aren't reclaiming them after each color, OMG that's so much work. I was doing short runs of funny foods for a moment. I used wax paper stencils cut with xacto knives. Fun, sloppy, and fast clean up.

I've got 8 screens so I did have to reclaim once to finish this one lol.

I meant to ask you about your quick and easy stencils. Do you mean you taped these to your screen? If yes I'm wondering how clean the stencils edges would be. Love it if you could share one so I could see. Cheers.

Sadly, there isn't one to see as they are also self destructive. I do get clean edges. When they start to fail is how I know that's it for that screen. There is no tape. I lay it where I want it, and the ink adheres it to the screen after the first pull of ink.

The limitations? Tiny designs. There are cuts that are too small for the ink to push through. Larger runs are impossible as things break down. Clean up does involve getting inky wet wax paper in the trash and not the sink drain. Gotta be careful.

I am terrible at documenting my progress and my work. My sculpture works are annoyingly hard to photo. I just shoot myself in the foot a lot, but I have fun.

Will have to use my imagination then but sounds very interesting. Def sounds like you're enjoying the process. I don't mind all the labour I get lost in it.
