Hot ladies in your area!

Paging all NoVA, DC, and southern MD Imgurians. I started helping around the Fairfax County Animal Shelter in Fairfax, VA. Figured I'd start posting some of the longer term residents that I've worked with here, especially those that shouldn't be longer term residents.

This is actually a plea post. Or a PSA, however you want to see it.

I didn't visit the shelter today, but was thinking about this. I'd say one of our largest single purebred breeds is the husky. The problem is Virginia gets HAWT. Huskies don't do well here. I'd take them out for 10, 15 minutes and they'd be panting, drooling, lethargic - I'd think I killed a dog.

Don't take a husky to a swampland! Know the breed you're getting. Learn about them, research trainers in the area, get one that is right for your situation, not the one you want.

But a shout out to Sandy, since I used her pic. Posted about her before, she's still here, still a class act. Learn about her here - https://24petconnect.com/PP4352/Details/PP4352/28120694

As long as you know what you are getting into with Huskies you will never regret these balls of questionable energy

You can tell if they are preparing for mischief

Huskies ARE trainable, if you put in the effort so will they.

Oh, they are. I can see it in their eyes, they're smart. We have a stray that hasn't been moved to adoption yet. He was moved out of my rank, internal stuff, but I loved walking him. Little dude was a puzzle, kept me on my toes and was fun to work with.

Oh yeah, I know Huskies are super fun. The problem is the environment, really. Here they go from SUPER DUPER DOPE to couch hounds in minutes simply because of the heat. Something that you never see on Imgur but I see every time I go in, a Husky asking to go inside. Because that's where the AC is.

Even here in Canada during the summer the Pure Husky hates going outside during the day. Can't convince her to come inside during a snowstorm though, just curls up and takes a nap while they get buried.
