New York City's Comptroller stated "This morning, my financial team shockingly uncovered that President Trump and his crony Elon Musk illegally executed a revocation of $80 million in congressionally-appropriated FEMA funding from New York City’s bank accounts late yesterday afternoon."

It isn't stealing if no one holds you accountable. And no one is holding these cunts accountable.
CoarseAndSalty
Please stop not arresting Donald Trump. Don't negotiation. Don't capitulate. Take him into custody. I don't give a fuck if he's immune to the law. Make every second of his fucking life someone else slapping handcuffs on his wrists.
billymaditsdone
Consequences? Nah, doubt it.
welluhwhatdoyouwantmetosay
Trump got a $10 million bribe from Elon. He sued Twitter over losing his account, and got a big settlement. https://www.nbcphiladelphia.com/news/business/money-report/elon-musks-company-x-settles-trump-lawsuit-over-account-suspension/4108290/
BreakerSwitch
Bro Elon already GAVE Trump $277 million directly to his campaign. It's bribes all the way down, that's why Elon is first fucker in the oval office and doing most of the speaking in oval office interviews.
GiantNeckbeard
Glad you’re here, @OP! Welcome to the madness, hold onto your beer, and enjoy the ride.

Now you find out what "Dictator on day one" means.
MoonAmericanFloydHeywoodR
Yeah, but it's going to bring down egg prices. I mean, it is, isn't it?
BillHubbard
Get used to it. Won't be the last time.
t00tie
Lock him up. Felon Musk too.
Beezebubbles
I think this is why there is a surge in the people buying physical gold.

HowlingRollercoaster2
open your foreign accounts now. it's almost too late.
artie500
Why doesn't NYC reciprocate by withholding $$$ it would normally send to Washington?
Psyskwr
Thank goodness the FDIC... Oh.. wait....
Foxplay
Imagine if a normal person hacked into the banks and stole 80million dollars of FEMA funding. Pretty sure they would be in prison like the very next day
Maviyakuku
The secret ingredient is Crime.
ValkyrieSwitch
MeestowKitty
This is literally a felony.
JustAnotherRabidToaster
I'll add it to the ever-growing list that no one will do anything about.
rumandbass
So like can someone arrest him now?
MioTaalas
Ain't that like... Illegal? Federal offence?
kraeftig
Yep. Who's gonna enforce it, though? The people with the official power to do so are too busy sucking the orange teet.
bripi
Yep, 100% illegal, and a federal crime so a felonious.
Prymack
Except the Supreme Court said he has immunity to that stuff.
bripi
Trump does; Muskie does not.
zafner
That's theft. Arrest them
AllGloryToTheDarkLord
Jokes on them, i only got $6 in my bank account.
IhlmarFalnis

If FEMA wants to wire me $200M and take back $80 Million, I am okay with it.
Goldensands
What's it like to be deeply asinine? No, I don't actually want to know.
UnattendedDeviant
Musk, using his minions, can go straight to databases and do key based searches to modify the amounts to be sent out with the access levels he and his programmers get.
Bypass all the bureaucratic processes that are usually required to things done.
No need for requests to people when you can log on to the system at issue and immediately pull up and modify files.
This is part of his "why let bureaucrats get in the way of the Executive branch" theory.
ravnicrasol
Finance software makes it basically impossible to go "your account is now 8mil less" since that'd enter into "deleting/creating money out of thin air without permission". Even with admin rights this cannot be bypassed, requiring a paper trail of where the money came from or went. So Musk's control is, in all likelihood, more like "I can block money transfer", which seems to be what happened in this case.
kraeftig
The treasury department does transfers. With full control he can simply initiate and approve a transfer from a government account to a different one.
SheepySleepySmuggler
The software will also have some form of double entry accounting to quickly show where money has been added or removed - the complex financial software used for large organisations is designed to make such manipulation easy to identify via reporting and audit trails. In the case of NYC, they were also expecting the money to arrive and when it didn't, thet were able to identify the issue even if Treasury management was not reporting the issue when it showed up in reports.
VikingsAreNinjaPirates
He's here to protect us from the biggest threat to American democracy (per his observations): Unelected bureaucrats. Now if we could just get him to understand what irony is.
Anaphriel
Why do you think the DOGE team, which was put together under the pretense of cutting wasteful spending, shows up to every location with a bunch of programmers instead of accountants?

Totally unrelated to the headline here but did you know as a rifle round enters a soft target its traveling at such speeds that the shockwave is what does the most damage. The projectile is usually on teh smaller size compared to pistol rounds but travels at significantly higher speeds, which as a result can cause massive trauma, even if the exit wound is small. Now a pistol, esp if its a HP, does most of the damage from the weight and size of the projectile and less on the speed.

Trump riding? Dunno, that's a bit too energy-consuming for him. Where's the golf cart?

Should be that damned garbage truck, to go with the high-viz vest outfit. Or just the (now-traditional?) burning dumpster.
PauliePlaysPoorly
Sigh. Don't people realise how much it costs to go to Mars? The money has to come from somewhere. I can see the USSS Trump in orbit around Mars now, ready to detatch ElonX, the lander, and send Space Captain Jared and Space Cadet Don Jr on their way. Wouldn't it make you feel good? Wouldn't you, as a New Yorker, be glad to miss out on sewerage or garbage services knowing you were bettering mankind? These nay-sayers need to get out of the way of history (and historical profits).
Szwejkowski
I'd be happy to pitch in to a fundraiser that sent them to mars. They think they can live there - let them try.
GiantNeckbeard
Considering nothing Musk builds actually works without exploding, catching on fire or failing spectacularly, loading President Enui Murk and Vice-President Dismal Stump onto a badly engineered, cheaply made and hastily assembled rocket full of rocket fuel can only end well for the world.
And best of all, given their egoes, they'll live-stream the whole thing and we get to watch the Dystopian Duo get a brief taste of how much fire and suffering is waiting on the other side, well ...
pixelsnader
Honestly, 40 million to shoot them in to space sounds like appropriately spent garbage/sewage funds.
psmith00
what waws that old Twilioght Zone story about moving to Mars. everyone is happy, great place to live even has a great industry and export product, high grade mulch and fertilizer. of course, all you ever get back from the colonizers are letters talking about how wonderful it is on Mars and how you should come to mars as well.
Kinseeker69
Why not ? He buys Twitter and fires half the staff, Started that DOGE crap and is actively trying to fire almost 100,000 Federal workers, Got his head so far up Trump's ass that all he can smell is his bullshit. The U.S. economy is already all kinds of messed up. No jobs anywhere, SO, bring in Orange Trump and OL Musky screaming, "Let's make the economy better by forcing people to resign". There's a reason why people call him Phony Stark.
tEMPuSER632
Kinseeker69: "Got his head so far up Trump's ass that all he can smell is his bullshit."
His head is so far up Trump's ass that what we are seeing in Trump's throat is not an Adam's Apple, it is Musk's nose pushing out the skin of Trump's neck.
Kinseeker69
Not to mention that he's releasing people's personal info online for ANYONE to get
beatmacster
What they’re doin is a slow coup. They need to be arrested.

Nonsense. $80 milliion was the price for Eric Adams to no longer be investigated by the Department of Justice for bribery.

Yeah, that one seemed to just slip by unnoticed by most of the media. The fucker bent a knee to his orange master and now his legal problems are over... figures though, he's a former cop.

Yes, but has the Motion to Vacate been submitted? Last I heard, it hadn't yet...
pres465
It was widely reported. No need to create issues where there are none.
