The latest Makelangelo 5 with 3D printed pen holder, drawing A2 sized images. How to convert a picture into straight lines is a really ineresting challenge and anyone who digs procedural art or recreational algorithms will find endless fun here.

This is a Makelangelo 5 with a laser cut acrylic pen holder on a whiteboard. Students later 3D printed hooks that went behind the top of the board to hold the machine.

This is a Makelangelo 3, back when we used recycled water bottles for counterweights. Drawings are A1 size.

If you're super old you might remember Turtle on the Commodore 64. Makelangelo understands GCode, the language of 3D printers and CNC machines. Kids who play with it in class learn the fundamentals of CNC machining without even realizing it. Also there's a Discord channel where friends like to showcase what they're working on, which is always inspiring.
