The ai followed the instructions. The range is not 1-100. It was never requested that the numbers fall outside of that range, just that the range not be limited to that.
The fact that the llm technically followed the instructions but everyone is wrongfully believing it failed demonstrates your point. Not to defend the llms, but this is a crappy attempt to copy other better demonstrations of the llm failures.
right, the instructions specify that the range be random and not be 1-100, doesn't specify the number chosen not be between 1 and 100. if the intent was to exclude numbers form 1 to 100, then the person should have chosen a better prompt.

hell, the range 1-2 is not 1-100, same for 1-99, 1-101, 0-100, etc.
ExecutiveProducerWolfDyck
Exactly. 1-1000=/=1-100

I'm counting down the days until the total AI collapse and everyone realizes AI was massively oversold and investors got scammed again like crypto.
ExecutiveProducerWolfDyck
There are plenty of idiots who still don't realize crypto is a scam. Don't hold your breathe.

to be fair, how many humans can read instructions and actually do the thing.

Especially here in America. You could ask someone for 5 numbers like that and at least 1 of those answers will be a letter

To be fair, this shit is advertised as a sophisticated computer system, not a pre-schooler.

you aren't wrong. this apples to others too. I know dudes in their 20s that can't do this kind of thing.
