Custom 11.5L chassis made from poplar planks.

Front, top, and bottom cut at 45 degree and glued together.

Two Noctua NF-A12x15 chromax and two Noctua NF-F12 mounted on XSPC's TX240 slim radiator acting as push/pull for intake.

Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 Founders Edition housed in EK's Full Metal - Black Special Edition waterblock. Using Alphacool's Eisstation 40 DC-LT reservoir mounted on their DC-LT 2 pump as the pump/reservoir combo.

AMD Ryzen 5600X underneath EK's Quantum Velocity waterblock. Also have a kit of XPG Gammix D45 32GB 3200Mhz ram and fan swapped Corsair SF750 as the power supply.

Three Noiseblocker BlackSilent XS1 50mm fans, sprayed black, as exhaust. They do not have any PWM control, but are surprisingly quiet at 3000 RPM.

The back panel is cut at a 45 degree miter to match the others and secured with six M3 wood screws. The motherboard tray is glued to the back panel and has channels routed into the bottom panel to slide in after components are installed on the tray.

You can see the Displayport cable and external power switch running out of the bottom of the back panel.

Alphacool's Eissapfen inline temperature sensor added in between GPU and pump/reservoir. This is tied into an Aqua Computer Quadro for fan speed control on the four Noctua fans. All fan speed will be based on water temperature after more testing can be done.

Custom designed and 3D printed bracket to support the GPU in the orientation I wanted. The side shown is technically the back of the GPU, but is more aesthetically appealing so there was no choice but to make it front facing.

Ignore the tilt on the pump/reservoir. Unfortunately I have that tubing too tight and it's pulling it down on one side.

Not a huge fan of how EK's ZMT tubing collects dust so easily and may change things out at some point.

All four Noctua fans were spliced and wired into a single connector.

I still plan on making some adjustments as well as a front cover for the fans and glass / acrylic side panels, but after so much trial and error to get to this point I'm going to enjoy some games for a bit.

Thanks for checking it out.

There is a reason why cases are metal. Heat dissipation, grounding, and radio blocking.

Boobs get knocked off the front page, but THIS is allowed?!?

Thats build is too hot

3 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

I hate to think how hot this one will be. My own build is getting too hot so I'd like to add more 200mm fans to it. Surprisingly expensive.

Beautiful build @OP.

Wouldn't the CFM over radiator fans that are mostly blocked on the inside be awful?

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

It's certainly not ideal, but when you go so small you have to give up some things. So far, it hasn't affected thermals too negatively.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Very nice. More this kind of content and less pics of assh- cats.

I kind of want to build a wood PC just to use the default brown Noctua Fans

3 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

I'm not a fan (ah) of Noctua. Bought some fans because reviews said they were silent, I guess they are silent compared to a 747.

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I'll give you $3.50 and a firm handshake for it.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Maybe even a stern pat on the back, champ.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

FYI, those 50mm fans will not be silent for very long. You very likely threw off the balance by painting them, and the bearings will fail.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I'm sure there is some impact on longevity, but I've done the same modification before and not too worried. If needed, they will be replaced

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

FYI, I'm a fun ruiner from the future and that whole pc will need to be replaced in 6 years because of FOMO.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Oh it absolutely will, but I would argue that's the fun in it :)

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Nice build. One note, removing the fan grill from the PSU might let out EMI noise from it. Could cause WiFi or speaker buzz issues.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I will definitely keep an eye on that. Thank you!

Did you soak the wood in wood first?

3 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

I did not. But I did make a wooden mold out of wood, and then melted more wood down, and then poured the molten wood into the wood mold.

Filthy. Absolutley disgusting the mods allowing blaitent porn like this. I want to talk to the manager.

Bold to use 3x50mm fans. They must be special if they are quiet. Nice components. Very nice woodworking.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I was pleasantly surprised by them. They don't move as much air as other smaller/server oriented fans, but I'm happy with the trade off.

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I wood buy this.

Maple I willow too, but I bet this costs the big birch. Alder way it's an elm of a computer.

3 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I too am pining away for it as well. The redwood in my trunks has taken root. Looks like it's a poplar item. Peary nice @op

These comments nailed it

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Man, I love seeing people's sub-compact builds, but the thermals would stress me out too much. Great job on this one!

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

So far, mid 60s on CPU and mid 50s on GPU. Not the best, but much better than my stock air cooling setup and undervolting will help as well.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Solid poplar... sees mitre joins, feels disappointed

Heresy

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Solid as in the wood used in the panels is solid, not veneered wood. Have to join the panels and make it easy to disassemble in some way

I take two of those ever morning before work.

All of Alphacool's watercooling gear starts with Eis: Eisstation, Eisfach, Eisbaer, Eiswasser, Eiszeit, Eisblock, Eisschicht....

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

FYI: Ice station, freezer compartment, polar bear, iced water, ice age, block of [ can you guess? ], ice layer

You know, I never actually looked up the translation for their product names. I love that!

3 years ago | Likes 31 Dislikes 0

Nice. I just bought a Sony X85J TV with VRR 4K 120HZ HDMI 2.1. I plan on buying a RTX 3080 soon, since the HDMI port is 2.1 on the card.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I am so tired of manufacturers putting emitters on literally every major PC component. I'm not hosting a damn rave in my game room. ;D

3 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

3 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

right? got some new parts and now there are several rainbows competing in my windowless case. its an endless rave party in there.

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

You can shut the motherboard one off in the bios, sometimes they'll let you shut off the rest on there too

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

i got the gpu and heatsink ones "under control" XD the ram not so much; but its pretty dim. OFF would be a nice factory default though.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I have two brand new black noctua 140 fans that I literally can't sell because everyone just wants pretty lights, not quiet performance.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That definitely makes it more jealousy inducing.

3 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

What's stupid is when the RGB version of something is cheaper than the exact same thing in non-RGB.

3 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Buy the RGB and disable the LEDs.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's what I did when I had to buy more RAM. The RGB model was like 15% cheaper than the non-RGB for some reason.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Matte black everything

3 years ago | Likes 93 Dislikes 3

Best RGB is when R == G == B

3 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 1

In this case, R == G == B == 0

3 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

And some just prefer the B====D

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

u wrote "modded power supply" thats new to me. in what way is the power supply modded?

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I guess I wasn't very specific on that, sorry. Swapped the stock fan for a 92mm Noctua one

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

ah! no need to be sorry, all good. thx for the explanation! tiny cases are always interesting :)
