Kind people of Imgur, please post pictures of messy work benches this weekend. I'm interested to see what projects people are working on. A little clutter never hurt anybody. Got a favorite tool?

I’m writing this comment because I, too, am now curious of what fellow imgurians are up to

My work bench is like an archaeological dig site. The uncompleted "project" is determined by how deep you dig. The intra-project transitional layers are quite confusing and would lead a researcher to conclude the components were used in religious rituals of some sort.

I feel that
BadBunnyLadyOfRocksTreesAndDirt
I should *make art* more. I have plenty medium/materials but get stuck with exectutive dysfuction and perfection that it's hard to get started, let alone finish. I don't have enough space to leave half-done things out, they are shamefully 'tidied' out of sight. Recent-ish; I have coffee splatters on to expand on/flesh out. From years ago I have some Scrabble tiles to paint itty bitty elephants on. Maybe I should just paint dot mandalas on rocks. Focus on the process more than the end result.

That sounds like a neat hobby and would love to see a cool rock!

This weekend I'm planning on getting my dual Ruby amp into its enclosure and continue trying to find a source of clean power that's not a 9v battery. Until then, messy desk.
BodyofaGodBuddha
Snazzy project. Do the parts get soldered under there or is that a bread board?
rkingesd365
Soldered, it's a (semi)permanent project. I did have it on the breadboard earlier this week though to iron out any kinks.

I'm not at my workbench, but I am making a baby blanket in one of the parents' preferred colors.
BodyofaGodBuddha
Very handy during these cold months. Do you have a particular stitch that you favor? What is the pink toothbrush tool?
DrivingTheBus
That's a crochet hook, the only required gadget. It's plastic and thick at the bottom, making it lightweight and easier for me to grip with carpal tunnel. This is a "V-stitch," which is quick and easy for a blanket in hope will get the living crap beat out of it by the recipients. The yarn is 100% acrylic, which makes it relatively inexpensive, pretty durable, and highly washable, so the blanket will be easy to care for.

Sick and tired so not going to get workbench pictures right this second but I’m teaching my little one sewing by making a purse at the sewing station. My leather shop is in use for a walking stick/spear. I’m painting a chess set, some picture frames, and a watercolor of some leaves in my painting booth (aka the dining room table).
I’ve also got some rope projects (Whoopi slings w/ custom copper rings) going at my work desk and I’m working on some state of decay mods on my computer.
BodyofaGodBuddha
You are a regular ol polymath. Kindly requesting pictures of the chess set once finished?
frozenlake247
Not really “polymath” (especially given I’m particularly not great math; pun intended). Just ADHD/ASD/gifted and try to stay busy learning and doing things. I’m not really “talented” at a lot of things but I have a special interest in learning and behavior that I’ve managed to direct towards figuring out how to apply skills in one area to other areas which means each new hobby takes less “new” learning.
frozenlake247
The chess set is just a cheap travel set I picked to teach the little and others how to play. Was all brown to start so I decided to see how some cheap acrylic paint would hold up.

BodyofaGodBuddha
Green is off to a strong start. Already got the castle done while brown has just pushed a few pawns.

In fairness I’m teaching a 9yo. It’s like her 4th or 5th game.
