Does it matter what order you light the candles in a menorah?

Yes, start with the Shemesh either in the middle or off to one side. Use the shemesh to light the candles from left to right BUT 1/

2/ you place the candles in the menorah right to left. First night one candle on the right, second light two candles on right etc etc
