This delicious galaxy, named the Hamburger Galaxy, is 35 million light years away, and is quite small in the sky. I would love to use a more powerful telescope to capture more of the detail.

This is a picture of the Hamburger Galaxy, and the M65 and M66 spiral galaxies, starting left and going clockwise. The other galaxies don't have cute names so I've decided to name them the Ketchup and Mustard Galaxies after the stains on my shirt ?

I created this image from 120 second long exposures at 800 ISO with 114 individual images stacked to equal about 3.8 hours of exposure.

HOURS. Imagine keeping a camera still for 2 minutes while you opened the shutter. No shaking or the image is ruined, oh, and move it ever so slightly because the ground is rotating in space underneath you. My guiding has certainly gotten better.

Are we sure it's not a cheeseburger galaxy?

I think it's a cosmically impossible burger.
