I have designed and build my own expression pedal, all mechanical drawings found at the bottom (sorry for low quality images).

rack gear (requires machining to fit): https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2304395
pot gear (also requires machining to fit): https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2305049

back

left side

the trimmer on the side was an after thought

front side

here you can see where the original power plug was ment to go

right side

components are visible from the front so you might want to cable manage.

you aslo might want to make the cables as short as possible to reduce noise, you could fabricate a lid with holes for the gear and push button but in mine I didn't leave enough room for it.

doesn't look pretty

all measurements are in milimeters (mm)
it is to be noted that all measurements were taken directly from the final product.

for the Axle bracket, Rack bracket and Switch holder uses galvanised sheet steel about 0.5mm thick.

each cross represents a pre drilled hole for a wood screw
A dense and strong wood should be chosen to prevent it from breaking, in my case i used ash wood.

noticed that the measurements were cut off
