I like thwm, theyre so cute and fluffy.

6 months ago | Likes 34 Dislikes 0

The one I petted was kind of matted with coarse fur. And boney and hard underneath the fur.

6 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

You basically just described me.

6 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

*A well fed possum.

6 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

So sad, sure they are giving it pets, but I clearly just wants to dring in peace.

6 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 3

They always look like they're trying to suppress an anxiety attack

6 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The good thing about that is you can have a drink and get ticks removed at the same time.

6 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

Ok but how do I get a possum to a bar near me

6 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Um, why is there a snow white possum on the bar? Is it the barkeep's pet?

6 months ago | Likes 201 Dislikes 4

To get hammered after a hard days work, mind your business.

6 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Barkeeper's Friend

6 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

It's a touch-starved wizard in an Animagus form.

6 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Stop being speciest. It has the right to be there and there aren't possum appropriate chairs to perch on

6 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Door possum. (On break)

6 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Well he's not just there for happy hour.

6 months ago | Likes 84 Dislikes 0

I mean, he IS. it's happy hour. but he also works there. for incredibly fluffy adorable definition of "work"

6 months ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 0

Obviously it’s there to get fucked up.

6 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Can I pet that dawg? Oh wait, I can? Sweet!

I don't know how one would assess opossums are catlike.

6 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

That thread is a wild read. (So now I will look onto a skunk or third-generation racoon instead.)

6 months ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

My grandmother had a skunk when I was wee

6 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

... can recommend, can't recommend, any additional information?

6 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I would prefer they stay wild in my yard eating ticks and other nasty shit, but I would have to try and give it a nice pet if I saw it on a bar.

6 months ago | Likes 70 Dislikes 0

They don't eat ticks, that study was debunked.

6 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Our impulse to pet makes us human

6 months ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

Yep. I hit one on the highway once at night and I've felt guilty for 30 years. I wanna pet a possum and say I'm sorry.

6 months ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

I gave our porch possum some nice pats. He was highly concerned why this large predator wanted to scratch his back, but he wasn't against the result. WAY softer than you would think, it's super downy fur not all wirey and oily like it looks. Him's named George.

6 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Well, they are wild animals. Also they only live about 2 years or so, IIRC.

Which is sad. Those dopey lil furballs deserve to live a lot longer.

6 months ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

Wild ones can be surprisingly aggressive. At least the one I encountered as a child was, and my GF as a child had to fight one with a stick that attacked her. We're in Oregon. But tame ones are super cute almost like another species. lol

6 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It's the one animal that was mixed up in shipping and Austrailia got the cute fluffy nice ones like this and we in America got the nasty one that wants to kill you if it's not playing dead...

6 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That's like learning that the two toed sloth can be aggressive, while the three toed sloth is just as docile as they look. (I had to "Google" to remember which was which.)

6 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Opossum* Sans "O" is a completely different animal!

6 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

No one pronounces the O though.

6 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Americans have always used the two versions interchangeably, for 400 years. The Australians just borrowed the shortened form.

6 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Well, no one has ever accused Americans as being intelligent.

6 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

Accused of* being intelligent. Fuckhead.

6 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

That's an Opossum, not a possum.

6 months ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 4

What is he, Irish?

6 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

In American vernacular English, that's a possum.

6 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Then American varnacular english is wrong. Please stop.

6 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 7

Hate to break it to you, but we've been calling them possums for 400 years. The Australians borrowed that shortened form from us.
