The ceiling fan in question, needs to be replaced. I tried looking for the box in the attic but…

Sorry about the dead rat. But this is looking at the top of that vaulted ceiling where there is a faux beam which the ceiling fan hangs through.

Pictures to verify where I am in the attic. Yellow arrow points to the vaulted ceiling.

Yellow x is the vaulted ceiling. I was crouching on those beams in the attic video.

Thought I’d take a look behind that loose piece of insulation. Was hoping there was maybe a crawl space to access to fan box.

Again, verifying where I am. Green air vent, red fan box, yellow points to the general area in the living room where the vaulted ceiling is.

We’re painting, so the walls are now NOT orange (thank God), but also that’s why everything is displaced. Yellow arrow again, where is the fan box in blue?

Another angle pointing out where I saw the vaulted beams meeting. Again, need help finding the fan box.

Sorry. Lol wasn’t expecting it either!

You don’t need to access the box from above, that won’t help you, you need to lower that top plate of the fixture. Try twisting it.

The thing circled in blue will twist off. Under it is the wire nuts, buy a new one and read the instructions to help take this one apart.

Everything you need should be under the blue

Vermiculite insulation. Lucky you.

The blades may just need to be balanced. If you need to actually replace the fan the other posters are right, you don’t need the box.

If you take the blades off (3 bolts each) and turn on the fan does it still wobble? If so it’s the blades. Those fans have a ball/socket

Don’t wanna balance it, I want to get rid of it because it’s outdated/ugly. My latest post shows what someone said is an illegitimate mount.

Inside that housing so the wobble probably looks worse than it is.

Isn’t the box inside the faux beam? That’s what it looks like.

This. You'll find the spot in the attic where the cable enters the faux beam, but the box itself will be in the beam, not the attic.

How can I get to it though? So I can check if it’s secure. With the amount of fan movement, that’s a major concern.

It’s likely a broken bracket that holds the fan. https://www.familyhandyman.com/project/how-to-install-ceiling-fans/

Tighten the fan from below, not from the attic.

Take the fan down and check it from below.

I noticed some of the plywood had some water damage in the attic video. Might want to double check to make sure your roof is in good repair.

Also you'll either need to resecure the box in there now or get a fan box for old work to put in there
