You can have all the wishes you want, just because you have a counter that says you have more doesn’t make it so, he said he would grant three…. He just won’t grant any wishes beyond three regardless of how many you have.
Yeah, I would be that asshole dm that would say that you just wanted your number of wishes represented in hex. By the end say 0 in hex is still 0. And like meticulously hand write write what he asked for. They will just have 3 pieces of paper 2, 1, and then 0 and then wipe my ass with the 1st one. As it was a representation to the ridiculous attempt to get more wishes. I'm a genie not a computer. I'm probably a lot off from a more perfect rejection of this logic.
My D&D group has an Efreet currently trapped in it's lamp. There is a cork in the nozzle and a brass wire cage welded over the cork. Should they release it and try this the Efreet will go full nuke on the party. 50/50 they will survive and win the ensuing fight.
i get that if you wished 1 wish per second after that it'd take you a lot of decades to go through them all before it resets, but... why stop at 32bits?

Now I really want to apply this to a D&D campaign
whitecheddarismyrappername
i wish that you would forget that i have made a wish after it is fulfilled
OnlyByMoonlight
I wish for dozens of genies to each grant me 3 wishes
Ekibwurm
so.... it falls back to 32 wishes?
UserNamesArentEasy
Should be millions of wishes I believe. As it buffer overflows to the highest value with 32 bit is 16 mil I think.
potatorat45
it falls back to the longest unsigned 32 bit integer, represented in the decimal system as 4,294,967,295.

Efreet grenade

Potentially
idonthaveauser
No can do, as that would technically be a wish for more wishes.
JamesTDG
It's a series of wishes that just happen to exploit a bug

Obviously genie cpus aren’t on a 64 bit architecture yet /s
TheMoonBnuuy
that's just about how much total memory they can address, not the maximum size of their integers
