Lots and lots of tests is what gets a country through this.

We have a president who makes stuff up AND has people convinced the news is fake. SAD! Seriously it’s very sad.

Why did they compress the Y axis like that?

And that's why we finish grade 10 math!

It lets you show exponential growth in a linear way, easier to digest for a lot of people. D:

I think it's logarithmic

Well I think you’re logarithmic :D

It's called logarithmic scale, and it's useful to represent something that varies by orders of magnitude. Otherwise details are hard to see.

Also, logarithm is the opposite of exponential, so an exponential curve with a logarithmic Y ends up looking as… a straight line.

The difficulty is population sizes are wildly different. US and Singapore have similar number of cases per million. Japan has way less D:

Also actual testing capabilites. See Russia...

Growth is exponential, so the population size doesn't matter too much. If US pop is 100x larger just wait 16 days and you'll have 100x cases

Also if we're doing this population-wise US should start when it had 6000 cases, not 100… but the slope would be the same in the plot.

US leadership - it's no big deal, we have 15 and then we will wake up and we will have 2 or 1.......

Not true

But now there are people dying who never died before!?

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

....wait, who do you know that can die twice?

We have dithering policy makers who took too long to make decisions. Travel bans should have happened as soon as pandemic was declared.

Trump was ahead of the curve on travel bans

It's the social distance we need. But it needed to be done at extreme level we still haven't hit. Would have reqd martial law.

And everyone wouldve called him Hitler and said, "hardly anyone even got sick, martial law was totally unnecessary!"
