Bernhard Riemann made this conjecture in 1859.
Many consider it to be the most important unsolved problem in pure mathematics!
Here is a rare animation of the Riemann hypothesis.
What we see here is the zeta function ζ(s) = ζ(a+b*i).
Most animations about RH show this function as b grows and a=1/2.
This animation shows what happens when a moves on x axis.
When a is bigger than 1 the curve shrinks to a tiny circle around (1,0).
The Riemann hypothesis states that the red line passes through (0,0) only when a=1/2.
