Picked up my second Bone Valley megalodon tooth! I cannot believe how cool this one is...the pattern and contrasting colors are amazing!
Here's the rest of my collection that I wrote about: https://imgur.com/a/yDlWOb9

The reverse isn't as exciting, but shows some damage to the serrations. Perhaps feeding damage? Likely not, but it spurs the imagination of a juvenile shark hunting its pretty millions of years ago.

Far bigger than my other Bone Valley tooth at 2.85". Apparently BV teeth in this condition, pattern, and size are pretty tough to come by!

Serrations - super sharp and intact. The tip isn't my sharpest but probably second or third.

Compared to my other BV tooth. Much larger for sure. The root isn't as pure white as the first, but it does retain a bit of its bourlette.

Here's the new addition on display with the rest of the collection! Until next time!

Thanks. They're definitely neat-o!

I feel a banana would of worked better for scale rather than your caliper gauge.
skttlebrau
Yeah, I keep saying I'll use a banana, but every time my bananas are embarrassingly brown!

There’s places in Florida where you can find them quite easily. Well, the smaller ones anyway, with a possibility of finding this size.
skttlebrau
All the ones I've seen this size have lots of damage, or missing the tip entirely.

It’s so rare to find one that large in perfect condition.

That's what it seems like, judging by what's for sale and the prices, much to my wallet's dismay

RIP your wallet.
