Yeah, I was trying to think of a good way of writing that nuance without ruining the buildup to the punchline. It's a misdirection joke, and if I said...Longest 12 years (or more), and then throw in the "we're only in year 8", it might take away from the impact of the punchline. Food for thought I suppose next time I tell the joke.
