As someone who says it: It’s not MEANT to be. Don’t get me wrong… Love what you love. Sports are great. But if you have a meltdown because your team lost, you might have other issues.
Are you invested in nothing at all in your life? Irrationally though it may seem to others I would bet good money you have an emotional investment in something that's probably not important in the grand scheme of things but that you could potentially have a meltdown over. Trivializing someone else's emotions because you aren't able to empathize at all is a take, I guess.
There are PLENTY of things I am emotionally invested in. Many of which have gone poorly. I react like a rational adult. Sure, I get mad… But I don’t melt down and yell at people over trivial things. A game is a game. They’re making a live action movie out of one of my favorite childhood IP’s, and I am PRETTY SURE they will ruin it. I’m upset by that… But I have no control over it and losing my shit won’t make me or anyone else feel better.
No thank you. I am not interested in discussing this at the moment. Perhaps if we were in the same room where we could hear each others inflections and read each others expressions, but here on the internet? I’ve said my piece. I don’t think I am being unreasonable, and I don’t believe you are either, but it’s hard to have a real discussion with so many communication limitations. I knew my comment would be divisive, and for that I apologize. But I don’t think we will agree, so I’d rather not.

"It's just a game" isn't really comforting tbh.

Define what reacting like a rational adult is.
