Not an avid poster - enjoy reading and sharing on my group chats. I happened to be using my phone when the "Breaking News" alert came across. Saddened to see iconic voice actor Kevin Conroy (famous for his work as Bruce Wayne/Batman) had unexpectedly passed, and decided to share it on Imgur. This is the sort of thing I would have previously posted to Twitter, which I used more for news... but I just deactivated that account and uninstalled that app because Elon Musk is a dipshit. So posted here instead.

Comics are a passion of mine, and like many Batman is one of my favorites. I was young when Batman TAS first aired, and it was seminal in my envisioning of how many of the characters should be portrayed. I still hear Conroy's voice when I read the comics.
I'm a former newspaper reporter, and I still miss the "high" of reporting important breaking news before anyone else. The hustle and post, then watching the clicks tick up while knowing your hardwork is playing a role in informing a community is unparalleled. When I saw I had gotten "MOST VIRAL" I had a similar rush (even though I was just screencapping and sharing an actual journalist's actual work).
But I feel guilty from getting it from this. I didn't seek to get a Most Viral, but I think any Imgurian wonders if they'll ever get it. This just isn't how I envisioned it. I guess I hoped it would be for some keen take or observation, maybe a funny meme or something.
Silver Lining: All the comments seem to show that every felt the same way I did about Conroy's work. So I guess that's something: sharing a sentiment with strangers.
