This is not a sloppy technique. She has good power, good balance, and her foot is planted firmly on the floor. A lot of people who mimic martial arts but don't have training will lift their heel and stand on their toes, but it throws you off balance and you can't put as much power into your kicks. (Plus someone can trip you with a small tap). She's good.
I rather think it was the implication that practice has no practical value because you're not being threatened during it. It was quite a wild statement, I'm not sure why you'd make it. It appears calculated to be dismissive and derisive.
In this and other videos here, there are two types of kick. The ones that follow through (and push you) won't really break bones. You need a snap to do proper damage, which only a few show. It's like hitting a nail with a hammer on unsecured timber. Just pushing it down really hard moves the nail and timber without driving it in. A quick snap with the hammer bouncing off (like you normally use it) will drive the nail in.
Ehh ya do want enough power to cause the brain to bounce around the skull... Other than that ya sure high kicks are riskier, better a low hard sweep or a knee. Hell even a solid front kick to the hip can set up your target for worse.
Roundhouse to the liver or kidneys or both, less risky and just as crippling. Can follow with a elbow or knee to the side of head if ya hate em enough.
True but the human body can also take quite a beating and remain standing. Compare the young lady's kicks to boxing, none of those kicks are knock out punches.

Worth it.

To all the people criticizing her technique, a horse may have sloppy technique, but I still don't want to get kicked in the fucking head by one.

Her kicks look good but don't seem to have much power. I could be completely wrong, have been before.

I took kung fu for 3 years. Those look like strong kicks to me.

seckzie
With hits to the face you do not power, just the right angle. Same goes for knockout punches in boxing. Kick is harder to land right though.
pullingsixty
Did not know that, ty.

pullingsixty
I've always thought along similar lines. Roundhouse to the head is best left to the coup de grace.
datphone777365
Roundhouse to the liver or kidneys or both, less risky and just as crippling. Can follow with a elbow or knee to the side of head if ya hate em enough.
MrBananaPants
I don't think I'd be moving I'd i got hit by one of those.
pullingsixty
Really? I guess the dummy's response is not representative of human impact. Kinda looks like she's slapping it with her feet.
FacelessAce
To be fair, I've seen people get slapped and go down. People forget just how fragile the human body is.
pullingsixty
True but the human body can also take quite a beating and remain standing. Compare the young lady's kicks to boxing, none of those kicks are knock out punches.
MrBananaPants
So I'm not MA expert, what's the dummy supposed to look like when kicking it in the face? Is it supposed to fall over?
pullingsixty
I think it did exactly what it is supposed to do, and that is react the same way a human would to the amount of force directed at it.
MrBananaPants
Wel if that is the case, I'd tap out after that first contact fosho. The way the head flipped back so fast im not aure im standingnup after that.
