Old time lurker needs your help Imgur

Hi all, I didn't know where else to post .. I have worked as a dev for the past 4 years. I recently got into a new job (5 months ago) with a good salary. Now I'm finishing off my master's degree and was offered a teaching assistant position that would potentially develop into lecturing. The salary is less, but I have always wanted to do lecturing.

I don't know what to do.. I have to make a decision today.

If you do what you love, you’ll never work a day in your life. You can always shift gears if you find out teaching/lecturing isn’t for you.

My professor came from dev job. He was mean, but he broke down fundamental very well, and told amazing jokes. If you've got those 1)

attributes, then why not? Though, just looking in from the outside, why not go dev job first then teach. You may get golden handcuffs 2)
