Pictured: A Canadian family working in their Victory Garden

Have you ever wondered what your typical American/Canadian did who was trying to survive during war time rations while our soldiers were busy fighting nazi's overseas? They helped by growing and supporting their communities with Victory Gardens, while the war we are currently seems to be us against the CEO's, this is one thing that will help. But remember, your local businesses also need support

Growing a potato = a hungry nazi

I am American by the gods, our Constitution was drilled into my head and I think its time for us to begin building and strengthening our communities, how long have you lived next to your current neighbor? Do you know their names? In the world I grew up in we knew everyone around us, this is important for community, the media has driven everyone apart with fear, turn off your tv and knock on your neighbors door and await the gunshot, what a world...

I don't know them, not all of them. I know a few, from my youth. And given how people have a habit of selling, and moving to elsewhere; I have little motivation to learn their names. I don't have the luxury of being able to pickup sticks, and relocate. Nor do I want the headaches of packing house.

American by the gods. What an odd thing to say
OregonComputerGuy
Just how many gods do you imagine humans have created?

And, most importantly... Batteries Not Included

Growing up, practically everyone I knew had a garden, or at least some window boxes. Gardening culture definitely needs to make a comeback.

Didn't gardening culture come back with the covid lockdowns... that and sourdough baking lol

Somewhat, that and pollinator gardens, but with not even close to the gusto that the Victory Garden movement had.

Perhaps in one way, but the face masks and isolation helped draw us apart, it's part of the nazi war plan to operate with shock and awe campaigns, this is currently what is happening here, next will be their real move
