Just be sure it doesn't clock out

I studied 1080p technology at MIT, can confirm.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I've got my alarm clock overclocked but I'm still no more productive

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Holy shit, didn't think I'd see myself on the front page!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Changing the system 32 file to 33 increases your speed as well

be sure to add a heat sink by cranking up your hot water heater and turning the faucet on full blast hot

9 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

Ha! Heat sink! I get it!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Remember when you could hack games by changing the system clock

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

TBH this was posted on an ask Reddit where the objective was to post shit anybody will believe..

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Infallible logic programmatically speaking.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

To be fair, this was to a question "What is a completely ridiculous "fact" that any stupid person would undoubtably buy?" :P

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

This post is so small, the picture is being permanently covered by the return to post arrow.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

What?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My clock on my phone keeps changing itself to Fiji time inside my pocket. I'm always late. Think these problems r related sorta

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Wait - that's how it works, right?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

On Windows 8 if you overclocked it changed how fast your clock goes. They patched it though

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Pro-tip: Overclock your work computer so you can leave earlier and have increased speeds at the same time!

2 gigs in points for that, nice.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

i'm a computerologist and i'm 100% sure this is how it works.

9 years ago | Likes 52 Dislikes 3

Also, underclocking allows users to travel back in time

9 years ago | Likes 69 Dislikes 2

88 MHz per hour.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

A hert is by nature per second, adjust thy math

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

(Shhhhh)

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

No just slow time

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Exactly Underclocking just gives you more time to complete that paper

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You know your Reddit comment has made it when it's being posted to Imgur.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

THAT IS CURRENTLY MY THOUGHT PROCESS YES

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Anyone else thinking of Jeremy tricking the boiler on Peep Show?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

ironically something similar happened on an old desktop. for some reason the clock changed to like the year 3583 and the computer ran super

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

slow until I fixed it

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Fun fact: this actually, really, seriously, truly does make minecraft run super fast for a few minutes.

Mobile users, let's make this one the top comment to show how mad we are. My eyes hurt.

Tap on it to open it up, then turn your phone to the side. Simple.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Shhhhh

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's too small for me to tap on

Can confirm, first computer had a turbo button. Pressed it and ended up here.

I'm guessing imgur works great with that 486 since it keeps pace nicely with the imgur servers

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

you hacked your way into the future! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KEkrWRHCDQU

Curious did the same thing and now im here

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

How's the future compared to the past?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Turbo button basically doubled bus speed, think hyperthreading before CPUs even worked at multiples of a base bus speed.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

Could have at least started with, "LOL! ... but actually,..." Just straight up party pooper.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Well, it did on one of my previous laptops, it shipped with Vista and you could keep it running for 10 minutes with turbo on before it died.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It made the numbers on the front of my computer go from 33 to 66!!!!

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

My Pentium had a turbo button. I later found out the only thing it was connected to, was the green LED.

9 years ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 0

Now I want to install one on the computer of every computer-illiterate friend I have.....

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Don't the results aren't funny. "Oh wow it seems faster already, thanks" You'll question your judgement abilities.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

I once installed an unnamed dial on someone's computer, they swear it makes their internet slower when turned down. It did nothing.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I had a similar computer with only a green light turbo button. I used to hit it repeatedly when waiting for things to load.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I... I know. It was a joke.

9 years ago | Likes 49 Dislikes 0

And I... I learned what a turbo button was.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

He gave you false information, it is not some damn voodoo button.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

No, SoNorth is making shit up. He's dead wrong.

late 90's pentenium?

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

486-DX33 actually.

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

I had a 386-SX (I think) when I was a kid. 25mhz base and 33 amazing Mhz with that turbo button.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Aww, my first computer was also a 486 DX33. 8 megabytes of RAM, 170 MB of HDD... I uninstalled Windows 3.11 so I could fit more games to it.
