Hi! I'm AdorkaStock. I photograph myself and others in various poses for art reference. My goal is to include in my galleries of stock poses a variety of body types, skin types, and people doing various things so there is a piece of stock for everyone. I want to share my stock, which is free to use for reference, with as many people as possible in case they need it! FAQ is in my bio.

Hope this pose helps you! Happy drawing!

My knees hurt

I used to sit this all the damn time, it’s so comfy. Ever since getting two artificial hips though I need to ease into it, and do so on a soft surface. Getting up is sloooow going. Still hella comfy though.

My only goal isn’t repeatable on Imgur

After plenty of time seeing Adorkastock poses here on Imgur, I actually had cause to use the site to find one recently! Needed a dynamic sword-slinging pose, and knew exactly the place to go look...

Dude it's cool to see the casual poses, I've spent too much time practicing elegant, flourished stuff. Do one with your hand on your chin flustered about bills or something

Restless leg syndrome or anxiety maybe?

As a drummer with shaking legs, i still cant keep up to those speed metal drummers, or Niel Peart

I will never not ask why Americans feel the need to add "apple sauce" to the already childish term "criss cross" for sitting with your legs crossed.

It’s location based; I’d never heard it called that until I saw someone call it that on the internet.

Because kidnergardeners and preschoolers sit on the floor frequently during the school day and this position keeps their feet to themselves, so a cutesy, childish way of saying it helps the kids to remember and comply.

Omg did you ever read I Feel Sick (A Story About A Girl)? It’s sooooo good. Love how her storyline intersects with Nny’s life. Also, the coloring was hauntingly beautiful.

I did but it was so long ago I can't remember most of it

Will tomorrow's pose be Kris Kross and make us Jump Jump?

Maybe it's a stupid question but why is this called criss-cross applesauce instead of cross legged? I get that Indian style is an insensitive term, but am I missing something on cross legged? Just seems more inefficient.

Probably more descriptive as cross legged could refer to crossing ankles with the legs extended.

Yeah... apple sauce is way more descriptive in telling me how the legs are actually positioned.

Dude, pass me whatever the fuck you're smoking because I wanna join you in orbit.

Sure thing, just let me un-criss my legs lol

It isn't really descriptive, it's just used to tell small children to sit down on the floor. They'll look around and see how people are sitting and sit like that, they aren't processing complex instructions. It's just a fun way to say it, like Cockney rhyming slang or some such.

We call it crossline sitting here (NL) Honestly, english should adopt it.

So it sounds cute and funny for kids.
