Hi! I'm AdorkaStock. I photograph myself and others in various poses for art reference. My goal is to include in my galleries of stock poses a variety of body types, skin types, and people doing various things so there is a piece of stock for everyone. I want to share my stock, which is free to use for reference, with as many people as possible in case they need it! FAQ is in my bio.
It's officially MERMAY!!! For artists, May is the month of mermaids, so I'm going to be posting all merperson-esque poses all month long.
Upcoming: If you're looking for a challenge, every year I host Draw Everything June. It's a daily challenge where you get emailed 1 pose every day (M-Fri, no weekends) and you have to draw everything in it. If you draw ALL photos (there's 21) by July 15th and submit your gallery, you'll get a free pose pack as a prize! You can sign up here: https://www.adorkastock.com/draw-everything-june/ The first email goes out June 2nd :D
Hope this pose helps you! Happy drawing!

A good sign that it's becoming pool season, again.

This appears to be some farcical aquatic ceremony.

Realy hope @op is a Monty Python fan, otherwise it seems like everyone is just roasting her with the same insult in the comments.

She's holding it by the hilt, though. She's not about to give it to somebody to anoint them as a king. She's going to stab a dude for invading her domicile.

Anti-monarchal mermaids are based! Water-based, that is! ^_^

I was gonna say, is she on her way to bestow that upon the true king, Aragorn?

My thought exactly!

I'll be honest having trouble thinking of a situation where I need a pose reference for a woman under water holding out a sword. Basically just the lady of the lake from Arthurian legends and that's about it.

Could be flying

Tried my hand at a quick sketch. I'm trying to get better at capturing the feeling of motion or fluidity in my poses

Hmm, spiderman really let himself go...jk, looks good

Don't get too excited but... your quick sketch is literally better than anything I have ever drawn
