Printed Dungeon Tiles

Jul 5, 2025 7:27 PM

Been printing a bunch of OpenForge tiles, we hit critical mass and had enough to actually play with at last.

I slightly modified the bases: the print pauses partway through, at which point I install a bunch of magnets, and then the print continues.

By doing so, the magnets are entirely entombed and invisible, and the pieces come off the printer ready to roll, no further assembly required.

Doing a one-day thing with the kids, so they could try some new characters and give the tiles a spin. Our intrepid party of two consists of a dwarven barbarian and an elven druid. They are ostensibly siblings somehow. A modern family, I guess! Here we have the entrance to the Fungeon. An inebriated caretaker awaits those who arrive by magic wagon.

A storage room with some skeletons and a magical healing fountain. The doors are all one way and close behind the party as they proceed.

Wow, what a lovely room, cozy and welcoming and just waiting for visitors to pull up a chair and have some food and drink!

Oh no, it was a ruse! The room is filled with rot and filth. The Druid casts Moonbeam on the biggest baddie, the spell effect being provided by a bright flashlight. Which door will they pick next? We’ll find out after lunch. ?

Didn't have the budget to print any doors?

Time is the limiting factor here for sure! Guess I need more printers 😅

But we just declared it canon that the doors are all paper thin and say DOOR on them. Impervious though because magic!
