As stupid as it sounds, slap the top above the disc reader a few times as it reads the disc. Only solution I found that worked. Happened to my ps4 pro.
My Xbox has this issue (only found two games it wont read though) It read the disc, installed the game from said disc, now will not even acknowledge the disc in the drive anymore.
I bought one game that was region-locked. It ran but I couldn't access the DLC cause it wasn't from the same region as the game. So I'm with Panzer here.
Yeah, they work. I’ve tested them on two other systems. Since posting them I’ve noticed that they work, once I place the console vertically. I think it’s something in the disk drive, maybe the laser
Most of my games are German, and a few Japanese. All are region two. And out of the six that don’t work, one is Japanese, the others are German. I don’t think this is the issue

Single layer DVD vs Dual layer DVD and laser going bad is my guess. Had similar issues with my PS3...

Could they be region locked?

Unlikely, all my games are region 2

Damage to disks, if others are reading okay. Check for deep scratches on shiny side, or deformations to painted side

On the PS3 I started getting similar results when the laser was going out or the laser lens was not 100% aligned anymore.

Do they run on another psstation? Could be the disc.

Unless it read those games in the past, nothings wrong with the console. The disc is either blank or region locked like other said.
Siptro
Oh well I guess it could be damaged but I figured you would have checked that first.
Xello99
The disks are definitely working, they get recognized without issue on another ps4 and another ps5
Siptro
Hmm. That is odd. Very odd. Did you confirm region? I know plantation doesn’t lock the consoles but some game devs do against their suggestion.
