Nice. There's also noai.duckduckgo.com you can set as your default.
ProCycle
Yay!

This might be an unpopular opinion, but I haven't really had many issues with DuckDuckGo's AI. Other than the obvious data-mining, is there a reason why they should be avoided?
Unitedite
The purpose is to avoid websites that are full of poor quality auto-generated text, rather than to avoid using a GenAI client (although you should _never_ use GenAI for sourcing factual information unless you're in a position to unequivocally fact check it from a different source).

Helpful, thank you.

duckduckgo also has an ai blocker. They admit it isn't perfect, but when you play with the settings you will block a lot (not all) ai images and you won't see their ai assistant.

I do indeed use both ddg and ublock. Also more adblockers to prevent trackers and stuff.
TheGreatSynan
Sweet! Looks good, just added to my filters. Thanks!

"Expand the IMport Button" and then what, motherfucker?!
MapleSyrupMafia
You copy this link in and press Apply at the top left. Just searched something on Google, no AI answer at the top, which is great on its own! https://raw.githubusercontent.com/laylavish/uBlockOrigin-HUGE-AI-Blocklist/main/list.txt

Thank you.

Does it work with uBlock Lite, too?
Lachwen
I also would like to know.
airentalis
No, it doesn't work with uBlock Lite. Manifest V3 killed their ability to implement massive lists like this one, so there's no Import option anymore. Someone might be able to make a truncated version, but with how rapidly everything continues to change online in this space it's unlikely to have an effective list any time soon.
Idsertian
Dang. Thanks, though.

If you used Chrome and Unlock, switch to Brave browser. It's chrome based, built in ad protection, runs great, password syncing. I switched recently and I absolutely love it. Google can EaD.
EntropyReign
ay thanks, been looking to set up UBlock to do this but am lazy. thanks +1

Here's some more custom Filter Lists: https://adblockultimate.net/filters

I wish these blockers worked on my ipad...fucking YT commercials every 2 minutes (it feels like)...
kittyanya
I managed to download Adblock for my iphone. Works all right, but the "extreme" websites get past it.
HandFireWeapon
https://adguard-dns.io/en/blog/encrypted-dns-ios-14.html It will remove ads on all apps (except youtube, for that use https://kagi.com/orion/ which also works with firefox extensions).
Drylegs
I recommend the browser brave for YouTube viewing
HandFireWeapon
I'd suggest https://kagi.com/orion/ which works with firefox extensions for youtube and https://adguard-dns.io/en/blog/encrypted-dns-ios-14.html for the rest.

You can block YouTube ads on iPad with Adblock Pro (and others I think) ****but**** you have to use YouTube in web in safari, not the YouTube app. It’s awesome.
HOWEVER you will get warnings from YouTube threatening to delete your account etc, after they detect you blocking ads. Scumbag corporate cancer.
mike13815
Any real tablet or computer can support ad blocking. If you don't have one a surface 2 can be had for $40 on eBay.
Hammerwell
Do you use wlan from a landline of somne kind at home?
Blunderwriter
sorry (embarrassed face) - I'm too dumb to even know what that means...got fibre optic and wireless internet...my iMac died after a decade+ so my wife bought me an iPad last year...so I could be mobile (I preferred the Mac - bigger screen and all that stuff). It has some usefulness being I can download movies and take them camping...it does rain sometimes...but can't install any ad blockers on it.
Hammerwell
Adguard should be available for ipad. I don't use apple, so I cant help. If it anything like adguard for android you can even add your own filter lists similar to those in ublock. .... Yes, there it is. https://adguard.com/en/adguard-ios/overview.html
