Mosquito NS522 - Missing from PR mission over Frisian Is. 6.10.44 Failed to return from reconnaissance NS522, a 140 Sqn machine, is described in Shores & Thomas' "2nd Tactical Air Force" books as having been shot down on 6 October 1944 by P-51s of the 4th FG,(335 Squadron 2/Lt RE Lewis) who claimed an Me 410 nr Helgoland.

Would intruders sport false markings? Is that a reason someone might ignore markings? Or maybe getting dark and they don't see them.
