If you really want this to sting for them, you need to put "Christians" in quotes. Otherwise you just feed into their belief that they are being persecuted for "being Christian". When you put that word in quotations when referencing Conservatives you call out the fact that they aren't really Christians because they actively reject Jesus and everything he stood for. And that hurts toxic jackasses like these way more than reinforcing their "I'm being persecuted for being Christian" mentality.
