While out on a fossil hunting trip to an Upper Cretaceous site, we found an incredibly preserved crustacean in a concretion. It has been identified as Linuparus canadensis also known as Spiny/Spear Lobster! They are currently still around in the Indian Ocean! This specimen was found in central Canada where an ancient seaway cut through the continent!
I would love to study the invertebrates of this area but currently I work with mosasaurs! For anyone interested, I recently helped in the naming of a new species which I will include the link to the paper below! I appreciate any reads/downloads as they help support my research! :)
