So? Who loves the shitty new search for imgur? That's right, nobody.
My best guess is that change is an effort to increase tag usage which they will then feed to train AI. Basically, they are crowdsourcing (that's you) image classification. Hate AI? Too bad.
My second best guess is they are already selling access to their database and thus must prevent freeloaders.
It seems like we all lose, no matter what.

Am I crazy? The search on here has always been....absolutely terrible.
Use a real search engine and specify site:imgur.com and get infinitely better results.

I also found out posts will not load with correct format (.gifv or .mp4) deleted. So, it’s like things that DO exist don’t for the purpose of storage. Maybe it’s just me.
