Thought it looked like a fun project when not fixing the house up

Found in UK, but tag says J R Hughes and Co, Columbus Ohio

Missing front lock, but no matter. Really strong latches though

Pretty rusted up

First hinge cleaned away

Love the copper pins in the buckles

Father in law owns an architectural salvage warehouse and he came across this chest. When picking up some fireplaces I asked about it and he said I could take it!
Hopefully with a bit of a sugar soap clean, and Connolly Hide care on the leather, along with a good wire clean and then polish of the metal work, it should come up great!
Any advice very welcome! Considering a glass top for a coffee table?
