wtf

Somebody stole my bike after cutting the lock. It was a pretty nice road bike very lightweight but older. Its brakes had just gone out.

Three of these four were attempted theft, not robbery.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Booby trapping a bike to injure the thief is morally worse than theft of a $80 bike.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 8

Damn minorities.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 21

#4 how does he not see the chain?

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

He looks down at it twice while going down the hill.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Because he's not seeing someone else do it, from a computer screen, without adrenaline, and able to observe without action

3 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Guy doesn't even know how to ride a bike

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I don't understand the sequence of events in the first one.

3 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Guy grabs stock and pretends to stand in line, then tries to make a break for it. Riskin it for the biskit, or crisps in this case.

3 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Thanks. I thought that somehow he had robbed the clerk and was stupidly just standing there.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yes, "Robbery Fails" had me wrongly expecting a robbery too.

Why do we enjoy watching the petty theft attempts of the poor fail? I'd rather enjoy watching through moral satisfaction the rich get owned

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

So would I, but it doesn't usually end up in video files.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

and that my friends is cultural power, although, I would appreciate some skits of a scene like this but for an offshore bank lol

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Read as robbery falls and thought this was gonna be pirated gravity falls clips

3 years ago | Likes 59 Dislikes 1

I need to get around to finishing that show.

3 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Why ruin it with that staged shit at the end?

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 7

Other than how hard he eats it, last one looks fake. He missed the very obvious cable, and who's recording on both sides?

3 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 3

yeah they are staged. The claim is they are setting up bait bikes but who doesn't notice 30 ft of rope. Paid stunt people.

3 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 2

They guys who set it up with the cable...?

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

The obnoxious robbery.fails watermark is annoying though if it's not even their content

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Oh, that last one. I could hear the bucket at the very end.

3 years ago | Likes 423 Dislikes 6

I saw one where the bike had a knife in the seat, would stab robbers in the taint.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Oh very not cool.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Didn't those end up being fake? Someone was paying homeless people to "steal" them for the LOLs.

3 years ago | Likes 30 Dislikes 4

Seems like a really weird thing to be "randomly" filming..

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yea and the two different angles definitely gives it away

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Sauce?

3 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

Shame.

3 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Bucket?

3 years ago | Likes 45 Dislikes 0

bUH-kit

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

That he kicked

3 years ago | Likes 44 Dislikes 0

(Chuckled)

3 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

The bucket spilling his diarrhea on the pavement. Serves him right.

Difference between burglary and robbery and theft?

3 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

Theft - Broad term that encompasses any method of stealing property. Robbery - theft committed through violence or threat of violence. 1/2

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

2/2 Burglary - Entering someone else’s property purpose of committing a crime (usually theft, but could be murder, arson, etc.)

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

❤️

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Burglary: entering somewhere to take stuff. Robbery: taking stuff using threat or force. Theft: taking stuff in a way that is illegal.

3 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 0

Here at least, Burglary involved entering a structure. Taking something out of a yard != burglary, even if private property and fenced.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Burglary and Robbery are forms of theft where the means of committing theft add additional charges under the law. To be *very* brief.

3 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

#1 why didn't the doors open?

3 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

Some store doors have mechanisms that make them harder to open to prevent people from just charging thru them.

3 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 3

Some stores have doors that lock upon closing, requiring the person behind the counter to buzz them out. #3 clearly has this, #1 possibly.

3 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

I think #1 is one of those doors that are really stiff so you can't just barge thru

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

electric door strike; looking at the barred glass, this happens a lot

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Karma

3 years ago | Likes 30 Dislikes 0

Looked more like a dive.

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

Fake? Tired? Slow mo? What happened?

3 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

It's slightly slowed down but also the mummy had been sleeping fools for a very long time at this point. It's the one you don't see coming.

3 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

Old Foreman's punches appear soft but have massive amounts of weight behind them.

3 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 0

All about follow through. My dad used to say, aim for behind their head/body, not just the skin.

3 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

That's how I learned to punch the heavy bag. Aim for 6 inches past the outside of the bag.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Homey at the pump was ready, great reaction

3 years ago | Likes 391 Dislikes 1

Needed a zippo to throw in the van

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Bet hell carry matches in his pocket from now on

3 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

Get one of those flip top lighters that stays lit. Toss it in the van.

3 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Theyre called zippo lighters but ya, thats what i was thjnking. Depending on frequency, matches might be more economical

3 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Yes, zippo lighters. I had forgotten what they were called, since I hadn't seen one in so long. Matches would be harder to toss, no?

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Maybe if its windy but hes in range. Zippo can also close on u if u throw it too hard or it lands wrong before the flame ignites something.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You should see the gun club guy at the gas pump one

Who steals trash cans? WHY steal trash cans?

3 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

Cheapskates.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If your county doesn't provide you with one, it's EXPENSIVE

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Street logic: If someone steals mine, I'll steal one as well. Lather, rinse, repeat.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Wonderful

3 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

What is the item?

3 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Garbage can?

3 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 1

It sure can buddy

3 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Yes. With a house number in white paint written on it

3 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

People steal trash cans to illegally dump hazardous construction material like Lead paint and asbestos on old drywall. Then abandoned it.

3 years ago | Likes 45 Dislikes 0

There's a lot of hunters where I'm from. My can disappeared, and the cust serv rep told me people steal them to make hunting blinds.

3 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

THAT'S what I'm missing! A smelly, nasty, diseased hunting blind! (I don't hunt but had to say something sarcastic, sorry...)

3 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Lol. That was my reaction as well.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That just seems like... A lot of illegal effort...

3 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

But a lot cheaper than proper disposal. All it costs is humans ability to live on the planet. Zero dollars!

3 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Lowkey wanna try that bike thing downtown

3 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 1

Do you like going to prison? Because in the US that's a great way to go to prison.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Just make a magnetic electric front brake that snaps on full lock if seat has weight and bike travels faster than X then gloat.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Might be considered entrapment? Plus, if they got seriously injured, could be no bueno

3 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 5

Entrapment requires someone literally persuading someone to break the law that wouldn’t have done so otherwise. “Hey man, steal this bike..

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

And sell it for me. I need the money to buy food for my kids, I can’t do it myself I’m in a wheelchair”.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You just stealing something because it “looked opportunistic”? Not entrapment. Bait cars are a thing for a reason.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Oh my bad, I thought bait cars were entrapment. Kind of like when a cop plants drugs on someone. You know? Things that need to be fixed

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Careful in the us. If guy breaks his neck you might be on the hook for it. Booby trapping or something. I don’t know for sure, just careful.

3 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 2

It's not a booby trap, it's just a very long bike lock.

3 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 2

It's obviously designed to injure someone, nice try.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Bike thievery sucks, but so does preying on the vulnerable.

3 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 4

… and are bike thieves not preying on the vulnerable?

3 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

I’d wager a person desperate enough to steal a bike has probably spent their life in poverty, in the US,likely as result of systemic racism.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 6

You say "desperate"; someone else might say "greedy." Stolen bicycles can be fenced.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Wealth and race aren't the biggest factor in theft. People will steal if they think they can get away with it

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

According to what data? I work in criminal justice reform. I can assure you poverty is a major factor in petit crime.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

And that makes it OK?

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Are bike locks not a thing?

3 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

Is that not a bike lock?

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

No. It's clearly a trap meant to injure the thief.

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

They hev portable electric bolt cutters that can cut through most sadly

3 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I'm guessing it's all about sending a message. :^)

3 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

He wants to see the carnage.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Bikeage.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

They just like the idea of harming people.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I believe it's the idea of harming what they consider to be the *right* people.
