modded bazz fuss... if you can even believe that. it started with replacing the collector resistance with the virtual base resistance of the PNP voltage follower up top. then i decided to make it common base by switching which connection goes to ground or gets the signal, so to facilitate the low input impedance of a common base amp, i added another direct coupled PNP emitter follower. That one has to be a Darlington for more input headroom and to keep the input impedance in check. common base has softer clipping characteristics compared to common emitter amplifiers.
