#6 That's an awesome setup, and hey, I've got the same Ecto-1! I've also got the newer, larger scale kit. It's really pretty.

This is cool, but the new Dune movies are definitely not for young kids (adults kids who love LEGO are cool though). I saw a guy take his (approximately) 5 year old son to IMAX Dune 2 yesterday. They left after 10 minutes, just as the bodies started to fall, literally.

1 year ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 1

same thing happened in Starship Troopers. when the gimped soldiers starting flying towards the screen, a bunch of parents took their children and left the theater.

1 year ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

The source material isn't for kids, why would the movies be?

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

How is it possible to get into the theater with an underage child? In my country the guy could only get in Dune II with a child if he had tickets to a kids movie and went into the wrong place.

In Canada, Dune is rated PG. Our system is:
G (general audience),
PG (parental guidance)
14A (you need to come with an adult if under 14)
18A (ditto above if under 18)

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's R-12 here. I can't imagine even a 10-year old ever understanding or even liking the film.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I felt like PG-13 was not the right rating for Dune 2. It’s very violent and the bad guys are exceedingly disturbing. That said, I loved the movie. It was just very strange how many young kids were in there. It is NOT Star Wars.

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Exactly! It should not have been PG here in Canada. 14A would have been accepted as it would allow you to bring your kids if you really wanted to, but you know it wasn't recommended.

#18 Out of all the cool and okay stuff, this is AI grossness. I'm surprised KISS didn't have an arcade game. Aerosmith did. KISS does merchandise the absolute fuck out of who they are for a basic MOR rock band, you'd figure they would have some crap machine out there.

*RISI

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

They did. Sort of. Kiss: Psycho Circus: The Nightmare Child. As well as a pinball game on the PS1.

1 year ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Nitpicking, I know, but that's a console FPS. I was thinking of a stand alone cabinet. But I didn't know (or entirely forgot) about this one, and I appreciate your input. Apparently there's controversy about how much Ace played on that album, so that's fun. Plus:what's the deal:with the colons?

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

The game was based on a comic book series call Kiss: Psycho Circus. Hence why there are two of them. Weird, but it's what they did.

Some people who build stuff with LEGO are really clever. Even the kit designs have gotten better over the years, they feel really solid now compared to older ones.

Armagedon maybe

#48 works if you remember Hugh Jackman played both Wolverine and Robert Angier in The Prestige (2006).

1 year ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

There's a Germany licensing credit at the lower right. Leia's probably enjoying a butt plug.

I didn't even notice the fine print. I'm impressed this picture has the pixels to read most of them, too!
Wait! Licensed in Germany to... General Mills?
Is this from a box of cereal?!

Not sure what the lore or canon says, but out of curiosity, is Vibranium magnetic? Could Magneto actually manipulate it? I assume there are plenty of parts in iron man’s suit that are not vibranium, so I still know Magneto would win, but I was just curious!

1 year ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I googled it, and it seems the suit is made of carbon nanatubes or whatever the fuck, and yes, iron man (I mean carbon nano-tube man) has in fact defeated Magneto

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Magneto has been known to be able to control Gold, which is non-magnetic. So I don't think it matters.

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I mean the picture is from MCU and in the MCU Iron Man's suit is never made of vibranium. In the first Iron Man movie he arrives at a gold-titanium alloy as the base metal through trial and error. The later movies don't really specify much, and by Endgame it's "nanotech" of some unspecified kind, but never vibranium.

1 year ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Thank you for the clarification!

1 year ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Gold & titanium are non-ferrous metals meaning Magneto has no control over them. No idea how much of the suit / armaments would contain ferrous metals. Certainly none for the rematch!

Neither are the bullets he stops in midair in the first film, or any compound that Mystique could've injected into that security guard without killing him.

INDEED! Thanks, science person!

To be fair, in a strong enough magnetic field, *water* can be moved magnetically. There's a pretty famous clip of a live frog levitating in a strong research magnet.
Also, it'd be pretty hard to realistically (hah!) completely avoid electric motors for actuating the suit's joints.
IMO any way you slice it, Iron Man's in some serious trouble.

1 year ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Yeah, but his powers don't affect water or he'd be flinging everyone around. Comic book magnetism is ferromagnetism.

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

doesn't matter. he has an armor made of rubber in Volume 2 of the comics.
