It's great stuff

I’m sure it’s course and it gets everywhere

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yeah, but it does a nice job insulating

They used the wrong kind. That shit warps window and door frames.

There is a bridge in Eugene that has a shit ton of this crap sprayed around the base of each vertical strut for some reason.

Probably to late, but next time borrow an oscillating tool with the straight edge scraper. Peels that right off super fast and super clean.

That’s kind of the point it gets everywhere it’s insulation so it shouldn’t be visible most of the time.

No gloves?

It looks itchy.

Sharpen your scraper and put WD40 on it to keep it from sticking to it.

Just like prom night.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Not sure if legit, or a wd40 joke

Propane torch. Not the first choice if you're picky about how much is removed, but it works.

Anything better to use to stop a draft from a window?

3 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Strictly speaking no, but you can achieve somewhat okay outcome with backer rod and plastic house/window wrap.

several things in fact

Like?

Nope

Plastic wrap & paint-friendly tape. Or get the wrap you use a hairdryer to seal.

Mice dislike the taste of it too

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm sure there is a much more messy way of doing that

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm not aware of an easier way to fix shitty craftsmanship

It's the only thing holding my bedroom window in right now.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Why is your window not holding itself in, or your landlord not installing a new one?

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Very old cheaply made vinyl window slowly collapsing in on itself. I have a replacement ready, but I'm waiting for summer.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I need to see about getting a replacement window for my bedroom. The glass has come loose, & the weights are broken.

Fortunately, my brother in law works at a window maker, so I got mine cheap, otherwise I'd probably just leave it until the foam fails.
