I'm mostly using the FTP / SFTP plugin and a ColdFusion plugin. Otherwise pretty vanilla installation.

hand coding (standard term dude) vs machine coded. as in; typing html tags by hand (key by key) rather than having a machine do it for you.

If you're against hand coding, you're for one of two things: WYSIWYG (aka "design view) or available themes in a CMS. (1/2)

(2/2) WYSIWYG produces garbage markup. Available themes try to be too many gigs for too many people ... garbage code.
